Las Vegas awaits its biggest betting day of the year this Sunday when Super Bowl XLIV kicks off. This year’s matchup could attract enough action to break the all-time betting handle amount of $94M in total wagers. That record belongs to the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl in 2006. Last year the country really knew it was in a recession when the final tallies were in, and betting on the Super Bowl had fallen off by nearly 10% from the previous five-year average.
