Thumbs up US Online Court Case

An American attorney who is taking legal action against the state of Washington claiming that its online betting ban infringes the US Constitution’s protections of interstate trade has had his court date set. Rousso, the Poker Players Alliance’s representative for Washington, has been told that he will get his day in court on September 21. It is expected that he will file his next brief by August 24, giving him about a month before the hearing.

No one has yet been prosecuted under the ban but Rousso's Seattle-based lawsuit argues that the law unfairly protects the in-State gambling industry, including card rooms and casinos. He stated that if unsuccessful, he would push for another change in State law to make Internet gambling legal again.

If the U.S. continues to prohibit Internet gambling, the country could being forced to pay billions in trade compensation. However, if the U.S. move to regulate Internet gambling, they can develop a responsible policy solution that allows the U.S. to come into compliance with WTO requirements and give every American the right to make up their own mind whether to gamble online.

That would make a lot of sense. Which is why the US government will not do this.

OK......Because of the massive increase in Internet gaming, it is no surprise that the federal government has stepped in and tried to gain control of the situation.

But the U.S. cannot protect their citizens from Internet gambling ......its a losing battle for America!!

Tax it and regulate it !!

I don't see why the US Federal Government needs to stick it's nose into the business of the people who want to gamble on the internet for anyways.

I wonder if they are trying to stop it because they can't tax it or control it.
